1st Line Support Engineer

We are currently looking to expand our team through the addition of a new 1st Line Support Engineer to be based at our Head Quarters in Wynyard Business Park, Tees Valley.

You will be the initial port of call for providing technical support to end-users who need assistance with their IT Services.

This could involve fixing a technical fault, answering a query, fulfilling a service request anything that is needed to allow the user to return to work satisfactorily. You will also assist with user rights, passwords, user accounts and basic level security administration.

You will be committed to delivering excellent customer service. Your strong communication skills will help you to diagnose the user’s issue and to explain technical issues in a way that non-experts can understand. Most of your work will take place over the phone, by email and through fault finding programs that enable you to diagnose and fix customer problems remotely.

Required skills and experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or system administration environment
  • Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 10/11 issues
  • Experience administering Windows Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Basic network troubleshooting incl. ping and trace route
  • Completion of higher education or a relevant apprenticeship to a good standard
  • Keen to learn new skills and develop professionally
  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment

Desired skills and experience

  • Experience of working in a Managed Service Provider environment
  • An enthusiasm for new technology with an interest in learning about new trends and technology and how they can be applied at a practical level would be advantageous


Up to £24k depending on experience, 25 days holiday per annum (which goes up to 30 days with long service) + public holidays, along with discretionary performance bonuses.

Our head office is located at Wynyard Business Park, which can be easily accessed from the A19/A689, has free on-site parking, EV chargers and a bus service from Billingham/Norton/Stockton.
