We’re really pleased to be celebrating a great milestone for Emily Burton, who has successfully completed her Level 3 ICT Support Technician apprenticeship with a distinction.
Emily joined Communicate as an apprentice in 2024 and quickly became part of the team. Alongside her studies, she worked in a 1st Line Engineer role, building hands-on experience while supporting customers day to day.
Over the course of her apprenticeship, Emily developed a strong technical foundation across core IT support, from troubleshooting and diagnostics to understanding how systems and networks work in practice. Just as importantly, she built the communication skills needed to support customers clearly and confidently.
Balancing both roles isn’t easy, but Emily consistently put the work in and took on responsibility as her confidence grew. She looked for opportunities to learn, got involved in real work early on and continued to build her skills over time.
That progress has led to her next step, and we’re pleased to have Emily join us as a full-time IT Infrastructure Engineer, continuing to develop her technical knowledge and take on new challenges.
Emily says:
"Through my IT apprenticeship, I’ve built a solid technical foundation and gained hands-on experience, alongside developing the communication skills needed to support customers effectively. I’m excited to continue growing and take on new challenges.”
Emily’s journey is a great example of the opportunities an apprenticeship can make possible. With the right support, real responsibility and a willingness to learn, people can build meaningful careers and grow into roles that make a real impact.
