Tees Valley based IT and telecoms firm duo celebrate 10 years service at Communicate. Dave Knight and Chris Mullen, who joined the firm in 2012, mark their 10 year anniversary at one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe.

The pair began their career with Communicate 10 years ago, when the team was four strong, and since have grown along with the business that now staffs 37 employees, keeping over 500 businesses and 50,000 users connected and secure, with offices in Tees Valley, Kent, Bedfordshire, and Leeds.

Speaking with lead field engineer, Dave about the changes in the industry over the last decade, he said: “Ten years ago, we had racks of servers in comms rooms at client’s premises, which meant a lot of travel and downtime if something went wrong. It would take weeks to build a server, order the lines, program the telephones, ship, and install. Now, the IT and telecoms industry is highly focused on the cloud and unified communications hosted in data centres.

“The biggest change for me is how in control we are with our services, from the monitoring platforms raising an alert, to the time taken to resolve the fault.”

Chief technology officer Chris added: “Watching us grow from three to 37 employees across the country is a massive achievement and I’m proud to have been a fundamental part of it. We pride ourselves on high-quality proactive support, which wouldn’t have been possible without the team I have had the pleasure to work with. Becoming our own ISP and having ownership of our infrastructure has been the highlight of the journey so far. I am excited for the future.”
