National Apprenticeship Week 2020

It’s National Apprentice Week this week, so we spoke with our latest apprentice Josh Sullivan to find out why he chose the apprenticeship route.

Working with apprenticeship provider Profile Development and Training Ltd, Josh aged 16 began his apprenticeship role with us in September 2019 as an Apprentice IT Support Engineer at our site at Discovery Park, Kent.

Why did you choose the apprenticeship route?

“I really wanted to start working straight away and learn on the job, so an apprenticeship was the best option for me. Lots of my friends took the college route but it just wasn’t for me.”

Why did you choose Communicate?

“I chose Communicate because I am an enthusiastic person and I’m keen to develop my IT knowledge and Communicate was the perfect company to allow me to do this. I completed a Computing GCSE and an IT course at school and Communicate was the next step to begin my career in the industry.”

How are you finding the apprenticeship so far?

“I’m five months into my 18-month apprenticeship and I’ve learnt so much already. I’ve enjoyed meeting the team and learning the fundamentals of providing IT services to multiple customers as well as learning the different areas Communicate specialise in.”

What’s next?

“Following completing my apprenticeship, I’m looking forward to a long career with Communicate.”

Here at Communicate we are proud to support the apprenticeship scheme, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Josh!
